Performances for Children

Ballet Among the Books is our unique programme for children currently presented in libraries around central London. The programme is tailored especially for those ages 3-10 years old and allows children to experience the drama, excitement and fantasy of a story-ballet all in a half hour. The half hour, narrated performance is then followed by a workshop where children and parents take the stage to perform dance steps and mime from the ballet.

The Nutcracker Ballet is our first instalment of Ballet Among The Books. The Nutcracker Ballet is a classical story treasured by people of all ages, and it tells the tale of a young girl, Clara who saves the Nutcracker Prince from the evil spell of The Mouse King.

Balletomane presented 22 performances of The Nutcracker Ballet between 2006 & 2009 and is now looking forward to the second series of Ballet Among the Books.

The Sleeping Beauty offers young families the opportunity to experience ballet at its best with enchanting Fairy Godmothers, a menacing witch and a handsome prince who rescues the Princess Aurora from 100 years of sleep. Performances start December 2009.
